Oven Not Heating? (Quick Testing Guide) | Repair & Replace
Oven not heating but stove works? In this episode of Repair & Replace, Vance shows how to troubleshoot an electric oven that is not heating up. If both heating elements are not working on the bake and broil settings then it's likely a faulty thermal fuse, a defective temperature sensor or an issue with the control board. This video is a focused guide showing how to test each component with a multimeter.

Blessings and guidance thanks much your teaching is very informative I learn a lot.
Thanks for the informative tutorial with diagrams. I do have a question though. Is it normal to have about 2 inches of water left in the drain pipe before the P trap? I am installing a shower base in place of a tub and I am converting from 1 1/2 inch pvc to 2 inch pvc. I haven't glued everything together yet because when I tested the drain for any problems I find that there is the 2 inches of water in the drain pipe. The pipe from the floor drain is about 8 inches long, so the water would not be coming into the shower pan. Thanks for any help.
very good advises
❤❤❤
I had a surge in my power this morning when I turned on my skillet (fried a surge protector), and now I only enough power throughout the house to run lights; nothing significant will run. Checked the power at outside and inside box and they both display the right power. Any help would be appreciated. Ty.
This is exactly the problem I am having. Question though. I do have continuity that appears in range on the motor, but the blade absolutley will not spin on its own. I've order a replacement motor. Do yu think that is the issue?
Nice instructions. If the tailpiece is too long, it may need to be cut depending on the setup.
Thanks so much for this! Just bought a house with one of these. I had never seen one and didn't know what it was or how it works.
This is fine for a top freezer. What about an LG French Door with bottom freezer?
I need that motor in first video 069031 m ,the website says no match
I might experience this out later since this is more commonly found in Canada.
so when to use dust mop and when to use just a vacuum? Thanks for the video.
Thank you! Please advice: Is it safe to use this method on dirty epoxy covered floors? There are marks that can't be removed with regular microfiber flat mopping. and using ph neutral/
This is very informative
Great video. Unfortunately it’s above my pay grade.
Excellent ! I regret I did not see this video 2 years ago when I was told during my HAVC inspection that my capacitor needed to be replaced and I had to pay $228 for this operation. A few days ago, during my annual inspection, the technician told me that the capacitor needed to be replaced again ! the price tag was now $479 !! Holly cow! When i asked him the reason the price went from $228 to $479, he just told me that the prices of capacitors have been going through the roof. My guts were telling me it was fishy. Then, I found this video. I bought a multimeter online and I checked the capacitor, and yes, it was weak (4.6 uf instead of 6 uf). So, I did some research and found an online store that sell the exact same capacitors. The price shocked me: only $1.98 the capacitor ! I ordered it and replaced the weak capacitor with the new one by myself, after finding a video explaining how to do it, and it works perfectly! So, I just saved $477. Incredible !!!
Thank you. It was very clear and easy.😊
Excellent Explanation of what to look for on Your run components and heat sensors!
Very informative

Thanks 👍

Why not vacuum? Dust mopping tends to leave dirt in the corners and kick up dust horribly
Thanks for watching. Dust mopping (with a treated mop) and vacuuming together will yield the best results. Every case and facility is different and the time required to clean, and the amount of soil are both a factor in how you structure your cleaning schedule. So it if makes sense for your case you might choose to include periodic vacuuming in addition to your regular cleaning.
Hello, my fridge was not cooling on both sides. I just replaced both the capacitor and start relay. I plugged the power back on. I hear the buzzing sound for 10 seconds then it stops. Then it comes back on again later. Does this mean the newly installed parts aren’t working? What else can I look into?
Thanks for watching. It could be the overload protector or an issue with the compressor. This video is a complete guide to compressor troubleshooting: ua-cam.com/video/NND8J8dXqJ0/v-deo.html Hope this helps!
Excellent
Thank you
does the fan have to blow on the compressor or suck the hot air around it ?
Thanks for watching. Since the condenser coils are hotter, the condenser fan has to pull air over the compressor (which will be fresh air from outside the refrigerator) to push over the condenser coils. If the reverse was true, then the condenser fan would be pushing hot air over a warm compressor, which would not help it stay cool.
@@AmreSupply aha thanks for explaining

Thanks for watching. You can get exact replacement stove heating elements from AMRE. Enter you model number here to see an exact match: www.amresupply.com/lookup or browse the category: www.amresupply.com/catalog/Elements-Surface-Radiant-Solid-Surface-632517-AD1C
Is there a way to test if there is a blockage in the vent? I.e. can you maybe pour water down the vent to see if it comes out somewhere else?
Thanks for watching. Other than listening and seeing other cues (like water draining slowly, or a smell of sewage) To determine if the vent stack is blocked and where the blockage is, one will need to access the vent stack from above and use a snake or scope to inspect it. This is best handled by professionals.
all good except you need to remove the water pan under the water heater and of course my bradfore white has a compleatly defferent thermopile assembly
Thanks for watching. There are some variations between models but we hope the video was still helpful to you

Hello there, I have this Bloomberg built in freezer which is not cooling at all. The evaporator fan is running but no cooling in the evaporator. I could not access the compressor to verify if it’s running. Are you able to help and provide me how to access the compressor of a Bloomberg built in freezer, model #: BRFB1050FFBI
Mine stops turning on until I turn up the knob. Then it turns on again but I keep having to raise the temperature after some time or it stops kicking on at current setting. Pilot has never gone out. Any advice?
Thanks for watching. If the pilot stays lit, then that shows that the thermocouple produces enough voltage. In this cases it's likely a faulty control valve, this can't easily be tested though but it would explain the intermittent issues that you're having.
I think we had the second one growing up cuz I think would go off easily I remember one of us kids would have to use a towel and wave it at the smoke detector 😂
Sensitive smoke detectors and weak bathroom fans were the perfect storm in our home as the steam from the shower would consistently trigger the detector in the adjacent hallway.
Not good man. Just make it easy. Do i need myself to measure it? Shouldnt there be a measurement of the lightbulb written on the light bulb? And the type of light bulb. Shouldnt it be all written in it?
Thanks for watching. This video is intended to help people identify, measure and find a replacement for a decorative light bulb when they don't know the size and base type. Not all bulbs will have markings or the right information written on it so there are times where some measuring is needed.
Great visual thanks man
How do you know when the water heater is empty if it keeps getting clogged?
Thanks for watching. It can be difficult to tell depending on the size and amount of sediment.
Hello Sir i have deep freezer its taking alot of time to freeze approximate 2 or more days. I have changed thermostate. nothing improved. I think condenser fan might be issue could you help me plz How can i chk fan? 1. fan is making noise 2 fan has little bit play
Thanks for watching. Normally it takes a deep freeze 24 hours to get down to temperature the first time it is turned on? If the fan is running but is making some noise then it can be a sign that the bearings are starting to fail. As well if it is vibrational noise, tightening the mounting screws can help. It's worth trying to clean the condenser coils to ensure that there is a good transfer of heat. As well make sure that there is enough space behind the freezer for air to move freely.
thank you for the great instructions! Will disconnecting the freezer thermostat disable the auto defrost?
Thanks for watching, we're glad you found it helpful. The defrost thermostat is meant to protect the heater from getting too hot. It will disconnect the circuit once it warms up. Removing the defrost thermostat and leaving the wires disconnected will prevent the defrost heater from working. Bypassing the defrost thermostat will mean that it will not shut off the defrost heater at the rated temperature. This is not recommended as it is unsafe.
@@AmreSupply Thank you! what would be the easiest safest way to disable the defrost?
@@wantabeu2ify Disconnecting any part of the heater circuit will prevent the defrost from running but it's not recommended to run the refrigerator without a working defrost system as ice will build up and will prevent the fridge from cooling properly.
thank you for making sense of this! very well explained! liked and subbd
You're welcome! Thank you for the subscription we're just happy to share some good info!
Never understood why it has to be in the basement though
Thanks for watching. The sump basin needs to be at the lowest part of the basement as that is where the water collects. The sump is located in the sump basin so it will push the water up through the discharge pipe. You cannot place the pump higher and use suction to move the water up the pipe as there are limits how far water can move via suction.
Cannot recommend this video. Doesn't answer the very basic question of when I'm supposed to hear beeping from the multimeter and when I'm not supposed to hear beeping, when doing a continuity test.
Thanks for watching. Not all multimeters will have the resistance with tone setting, (the audible beep) which will beep anytime there is continuity. We showed how to test continuity with resistance as this covers a wider range of scenarios. If the component you test has a resistance of 0 Ohms or above then it will beep (while on that setting). This is continuity. There is a continuous electrical path. If the component has no resistance, a blank display or - - - - - - or a "OL" reading, then it has no continuity. In this case there is no beep. This is explained a bit more in the multimeter basics video: ua-cam.com/video/r_migcta_Is/v-deo.html Hope this helps.

How about loud clanging noises? I have a samsung fridge and ever since it's been repaired by a third party it started having this clanging noise
Thanks for watching. Are you able to narrow down where that sound is coming from? Is it an intermittent sound? Does it happen anytime a fan runs? Listen carefully and see if you can make out any patterns, that will help you determine what could be the cause.
One of the wire terminals burned off mine (someone didn't turn off the breaker after i told them to!) I have a 16 gauge terminal, but it looks like the light wire actually has a 22 gauge. The terminal fits but the wire doesn't look as snug. Also the terminals look like a different color, not sure if the old terminal color due to oxidation. Does the new terminal have to be a special type, or are any terminals okay?

Thanks for watching. The terminals on the light socket in this video have different colors and this a byproduct of how lamp sockets are wired in other applications. Brass is hot and the silver colored terminal is neutral. In this case the colors shouldn't matter as there is no polarity in the light bulb itself in the oven. As for replacing the terminals itself, it's always best to replace like for like, to ensure a proper fit and connection. If the new terminal connects securely, then it should be good to go.
